5. Day: Chur / Walkringen

Bild
Dear parents, Due to the weather in Wallis there was a change to our travel plans. We are staying in a magnificent house in Emmental for the next few days. After minor changes in the weekly schedule we are going to continue our activities in and around the valley of Emmental. Stay tuned for further updates from this lovely valley!

4. Day: Urnäsch / Gais / Chur

Bild
Today we began our day by leaving our house in Urnäsch and making a stop in the charming village of Gais. Here, we visited an old "Biber" bakery, where the kids had the unique opportunity to make their own Biber. Meanwhile, we enjoyed the stunning views of the Säntis mountain from the bakery. After lunch, we went to Chur, where the fun continued with a human-sized rock-paper-scissors game.  In the afternoon, we gathered to watch the European Championship game between Switzerland and Italy. Despite the mixed feelings about the game’s result, we still enjoyed the evening. For dinner, we had a delightful risotto.

3. Day: Zipline Park Jakobsbad

We woke up and awaiting was a 2 mile uphill and downhill hike. Then we adventurously jumped on a train, looking like cavemen, because we had sticks.  Then we went to this epic camp with zippy ziplines and ropy ropes. And we carved sticks and we literally felt like so fun. Then we ate fire food of the fire. And then dangerously life flashed before our eyes leaping across the trains. We sped up the mountain like speedy cheetahs. The grass has never been greener. And then the most tragic thing happened, my feet surprisingly led me to cow manure. The end - my feet are brown.  - Made by Elena and Anna - Brunell: "this is completely watered down and exaggerated"

2. Day: Schaffhausen / St. Gallen / Urnäsch

First we cleaned up our tents from a great night of sleep, and ate and enjoyed our riverside. After that we packed sandwiches for our lunch. We packed our bags and walked to the train station. After 2 stops the train broke down and we worked on our country posters while we waited for the next train. Then we arrived at St.Gallen to do a scavenger hunt. In the hunt we tried to track down a beaver held captive by Mr. X. Once everyone found the beaver, we walked back to the train station while eating lunch.

Welcome to our SJAS Swiss Trip blog! We're excited to share our daily adventures with you. Our journey began at the Zurich airport, where the kids arrived this morning. From there, we headed straight to the magnificent Rheinfälle. The highlight of our day was a boat ride around the waterfalls. We were impressed by the sheer power and beauty of the cascades! Next, we traveled to the charming town of Schaffhausen. Close to here, we set up our camp at a picturesque riverside campsite. The serene setting was perfect for our group to unwind and connect with nature. In the evening, we ate dinner and spent some quality time getting to know each other through fun games and activities.  As the day came to an end, everyone went to bed tired but happy. Stay tuned for more updates from our SJAS Swiss Trip journey!
